Suggested for March or April - Easter Giving
The Easter season brings to mind newness and rebirth. As the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley begins its 30th year of operation, Board members, staff and volunteers of the Emergency Shelter are once again reenergized to continue providing safe shelter and guidance to our community's homeless and at-risk individuals and families. Demand for the services of the Emergency Shelter has never been greater. Your donation of $20 will help shelter and feed a child for a day. A donation of $30 will provide an hour of case management to assist the homeless to leave crisis. $75 will help provide an hour of GED/HSED instruction to a resident that has not completed high school. Donations can be sent to the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley, 400 N. Division Street, Appleton, WI 54911 or you can also donate on line at www.emergencyshelterfoxvalley.org.

Suggested for April
Do you know that you can help prevent homelessness in our community? The Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley is expecting an increase in the number of people seeking rental and utility assistance in April. That's when a state moratorium which prohibits utility companies from disconnecting non-paying customers in the cold winter months is lifted. The Emergency Shelter provided prevention services, in collaboration with LEAVEN, to 1,399 people in 2009. With Prevention program services, 98% of those we serve successfully avoid a homeless episode. Your gift can provide case management and follow-up services needed to help prevent an eviction. Donations can be sent to the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley, 400 N. Division Street, Appleton, WI 54911 or donate online at www.emergencyshelterfoxvalley.org.
